| The Sacramento Composite Economic Area is a five county (Amador, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer and Sacramento Counties) entity that ended 2007 with an annual average of 978.2 thousand employed persons. This was a 1.25% increase over the annual average 966.2 thousand employed persons in 2006. The annual average number of persons employed in the Sacramento CEA is forecasted, based on actual data through December, 2007, to increase by 0.83% to 986.4 thousand in 2008. |

| The annual Unemployment Rate for the Sacramento CEA was 5.2% in 2007, up from the 4.6% rate in 2006. The average annual rate for 2008, based on actual data through December, is expected to increase again to 5.6%. |

| Taxable Sales |
| Taxable Sales at all Outlets in the five county Composite Economic Area posted a $341. million increase in 2006 (an increase of 1.1%) to a total of $32.4 billion, an slowing of growth compared to the 6.5% increase in 2005. The forecast for 2007, based on actual data through the 4th quarter, 2006, is an even slower increase of 0.03%, to $32.41 billion. The forecast for 2008 is an increase of 3.6%. |
