Sarah Anderson

I am a senior at Sacramento State University. I grew up in Roseville, CA. My research interests are in cultural psychology, with a focus on cultural identity. Currently, I am working on my undergraduate studies in psychology, and am looking into graduate school programs to continue my education.

Leslie Boykin

I am a fourth year student majoring in Psychology at California State University, Sacramento. Although I was born and raised in California I have also lived in the East Coast and Northwest. Some of my interests include working with kids, playing sports, writing and traveling with my family. My short-term goal includes getting accepted into graduate school and my long-term goal includes owning my own business. I am interested in research in social psychology involving interpersonal marriage and familial relationships. I am also a member of Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society.

Leah Davis

At 15 I decided that I wanted to study psychology. I graduated high school a year early and entered college at 17. After a long break from my studies during which I traveled extensively and educated myself, I returned to formal education and am now a junior here at California State University, Sacramento. I have a love for evolutionary psychology and women's issues. My future goal is to practice therapy.

Sierra Dimberg

I am a third year undergraduate student studying psychology at Sacramento State University. I lived in South Dakota and then moved and grew up in Hanford, CA. My future goals are to attend graduate school in clinical psychology and become a child therapist. I love working with kids and I hope to do research on the effects of traumatic experiences on children and build on coping mechanisms.

Susan Her

I am a senior at California State University, Sacramento and pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am currently in the Sac-Mentoring Program, serving as a mentor for at-risk youth. My future goals are to continue my education in graduate school, participate in community-based research, and work with youth and their families. My research interests include multiculturalism in youth, youth and human development, and marriage and family relations.

Yvonne Jefferson

I am a second year graduate student at Sacramento State University. I am currently in the pre-doctoral track and hope to continue my education at the Ph.D. level in clinical psychology. I currently work for the Sacramento Children's Home as a home visitor working with young mothers in the Birth and Beyond program. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and enjoy California very much. My research interests include intervention and prevention for at risk youth, Identity development, and Multicultural/ Multiracial populations.

Nazia Khan

I was born in Pakistan and moved to the United States in 1994. I am a senior at Sacramento State University and will be graduating with a degree in Psychology in spring 2011. My primary research interests are in multiculturalism and stereotyping among children and older individuals. I am also interested in understanding how cultures affect children, families, and older individuals in daily life and ways that we can help them deal with their daily challenges and improve their quality of life.

Jimmy Vue

I am a senior at California State University, Sacramento and expect to graduate in spring 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I would like to attend graduate school in Industrial-organizational Psychology, focusing on human resource solutions in organizations.
