EARNING ACADEMIC CREDIT, The Department of English offers a number of Internships every semester. Interns receive careful supervision by an Internship Mentor in the job setting. My role, as the Faculty Internship Coordinator in the English Department, is to ensure that you acquire valuable work experience and to act as an intermediary when necessary. Students earn 3 units of upper-division or graduate credit, depending upon class standing. Internships provide opportunities to explore your chosen professional field. By learning and experiencing the day-to-day responsibilities and demands of the job, an internship will help you determine if the profession is indeed a good fit for you. Read what some of our past Interns have reported about their experience:
It is imperative that students contact me immediately after signing up for 195C or 410C in order to earn credit for the internship. For more information, your first step is to consult the Internships page of the English Department website. Please contact me if you have further questions or need to set up an appointment. |
