Biographical Sketch

R. Scott Mackey

R. Scott Mackey has been writing for 22 years, publishing a variety of features on sports and business. His first book, Barbary Baseball: The Pacific Coast League of the 1920s (McFarland 1995), received widespread critical acclaim. In 2001 he published his first novel, Blood Runs Deep (Brookfield Reader), a taut mystery for teenage readers. Mr. Mackey works full-time as the head of SMUD's corporate communications and multimedia division. Among his interests are golf, skiing and agonizing over the fate of the San Francisco Giants.

B.A. in mass communication, University of California, Davis.
