Hi, This is
a part of my presentation which I did for a Japanese language teacher meeting
at California State University at Sacramento on October 4, 2003. Since the
fall of 2002, I have been working with Ms. Andrea Shea, Information Technology
Consultant at University Computing and Communication Services. She has developed
interesting on-line exercises such as Usagi's drag-n-drop exercise. In addition
to her work, I compiled various links on Kana learning, which I thought
very useful and interesting to my students. My students have been using
these sites to enhance their kana skills. |
| Genki |
On-line
vocabulary exercise for Genki Textbook(currently only available to CSUS
students who are studying Japanese)
- Usagi-site
has an interesting vocabulary exercise. Work on Vocabulary on all lessons.
The site contains all vocabulary on Genki. In this exercise, you need
to type in kana to do this exercise. (To install the Japanese word processing,
read "How to read and write Japanese at your computer" at
the Usagi-site. If you do not have Office XP, click
HERE! If you want to know more about Japanese and computing, click
HERE!
) To use this on-line vocabulary exercise, choose a lesson, and press
"return." When
you type in, Usagi give you "x" if you do not type the word
in the textbook. For example, "thanks" can be all of the followings:
どうも、ありがとう、どうもありがとう. But Usagi's site only shows you "O" when
you type どうも. Well, do you want to try?
- Work on
how to greet in Japanese from Genki On-line: Greeting
exercise
- Work on
Vocabulary from Genki On-line: L1
on-line vocabulary
- We developed
a lot of on-line exercises on Web CT. We will show several screen shots
so that you can take a look at what types of on-line quizzes and exercises
which we created for this course.
