Geology 8T Weekly Assignments
If you missed class, you may download a pdf of the assignment you missed below - assignments are posted on Thursday night after the last lab session. If the link is not yet active, please e-mail me (bjmunn@csus.edu) in case I forgot to post it. Click here for more detailed assignment information from the on-line syllabus. If you miss class, you still have to do the assignment and hand it in NO LATER THAN the beginning of class on the following week (otherwise you will receive a zero). I encourage you to slip it under my office door (Placer 1018) earlier than that (by 2 pm Wednesday) so that I can grade it and return it to you with everyone elses assignment (otherwise you will not be able to rewrite it).
- Week 1: Scientific Inquiry / The Moon
Time is given for you to complete each assignment in class before you leave. If you miss class, then you must download the asignment, complete it as best you can and turn it in no later than the next class period - if you slip it under my door by 2 pm on Wednesdat before the next class period, then you will be able to rewrite it. If you give it to me at the very beginning of the next class period (before I return the corrected versions to everyone else), then you will get full credit but will not be able to rewrite it. - Week 2: Mineral Properties
You will need to contact me (bjmunn@csus.edu) so that I can arrange for you to look at the samples for this assignment. You also should go to the library and check out the mineral box so that you can see all of the minerals that we looked at in class - see the lab notes to get more information about where the mineral box is reserved and which minerals to look at in that box. - Week 3: Earth Resources & Introduction to Rocks
If you missed this class, look through the material in your lab manual, check out the lab notes, talk to a classmate, and contact me (bjmunn@csus.edu) about making up the quiz that you missed. Visit the websites related to Long Vally Analysis to get a feel for what we did in class- the links to those websites are on the lab notes page.
