Since you are trained, we are ready to have you start coding. I would ask
that you each shoot for at least 4 hours this week if at all possible.
More would be wonderful. We are already behind schedule, and need to get
as much behind us as we can! The lab is available W-Friday from 8AM-
12:30 PM. Some new information:
1. All of our materials are in the big desk drawer in the second cubicle from
the left. You will find new headphones, stopwatches, a folder with log
books (including a master log), and an instruction sheet.
2. To log onto the computer, the password is: cati07 (replace the numbers with
whatever your monitor says -- on a sticky).
3. To get to our folder, go: My computer---isr on
skynet1---share---public---media lab---survey(this
will be the only one in the main folder)
OR, now there is a desktop shortcut – it is a tree.
4. Make sure to use the new version of the instrument that is in the folder now
--- do not go off of ones you used in training, since they are not up to date.
5. Get yourself a copy of the log book from the folder in the drawer. Put
your name on it. This will be your personal log book. Check off
which programs you code. Put it back in the folder when you are done for the
day.
6. When you are done coding for the day, make sure to get out the MASTER log
book. Put your initials next to any episodes you watched so that we don't
end up duplicating work.
7. Be sure to "save as" according to the
protocol listed on the instruction sheet. Save into the folder according
to channel.
8. Remember that if you have any questions or if anything is confusing, make
good notes (you can do it in the "other" box in the form itself).
9. Our main contact person at ISR is Patty Crosby. Please e-mail her when
you plan to come in, just to make sure that they are aware that somebody is in
the lab. pcrosby@csus.edu
