Mesopotamia ABC Book

• Sixth grade project using Ancient Mesopotamia social studies curriculum and Microsoft Word.  In pairs, the students create an ABC book.  One student does A-M the other student does N-Z.  They brainstorm and write a short paragraph on each letter (Ex: Cuneiform: cuneiform was an early form or writing used but the ancient Mesopotamians.  It was a combination of wedge shaped forms and usually written on a clay tablet) Using MS Word, they insert text boxes for the text and insert pictures that match.  They learn a lot of Word skills because of the repetitive nature of the project and produce a nice looking finished document, all the while immersed in ancient Mesopotamian curriculum.
