    Research Projects/Interests

    Instructional Communication

    I conduct research on the following topics:

    • Development of Expertise in Cognitive Coachingsm - Cognitive Coaching is a program whereby teachers coach one another using non-evaluative verbal and nonverbal communication techniques. I study the ways in which people become expert coaches.
    • Instructional Communication - I study and teach a graduate course about communication in the context instruction, i.e., communication between teachers and students, students and students, teachers and teachers.-
    • Pedagogy of Rhetorical Criticism - I am currently co-authoring an introductory rhetorical criticism textbook with Professor Mark Stoner, of CSUS.
    • Feminist Rhetorical Criticism - conduct rhetorical critiques of feminist discourse-- e.g., feminist theatre, feminist speeches, etc.
