Learn the General Addition Rule, Special Addition Rule, General Multiplication Rule, Special Multiplication Rule, Rule of complements, and definition of conditional probability to work out probabilities of events. Learn how to use contingency tables to calculate probabilities of events and decide if events are independent or not.

If the question asks you to calculate confidence interval based on pooled t-test statistic or paired t-test statistic, you can skip that part. Your score in this homework will be adjusted later since you have been asked to skip calculating confidence interval estimates for mu_1 - mu_2.

  Midterm III is on Thursday, 5/1/14. Test covers chapters 8, 9, and 10. Z-interval for mu, t-interval for mu, z-test for mu, t-test for mu, pooled t-test, and paired t-test are the topics along with critical value approach and p-value approach for testing of hypotheses.
