RPTA 122: Perspectives on Leisure

  RPTA 122 Syllabus

The evil Tower of Terror at Disney's California Adventure is pure leisure excitement for some and pure non-leisure stress for others. Defining leisure has never been easy for the experts of leisure theory, and sometimes the layman can describe it more effectively. How do you define leisure? How does it relate to your quality of life? Should leisure be, like the best things in life, free? Or should you pay $50.00 to stand in line for it? Is it a most personal, individual expression, or is it the ultimate form of conformity as you line up with millions to do the exact same thing in Las Vegas, Disneyland or any sporting event?
