BOOK REPORT:ComS 163  (optional) [Goffman's Presentation of Self in Everyday Life recommended]  10 points
(If you wish to use another book, you need to clear it with me.)

The goals of the book report are:
1) to isolate and describe what you believe to be the key ideas of the book
2) to analyze those ideas and connect them with concepts and theories in communication that account for the development and maintenance of the self in society

To accomplish these goals, you will write a 3-4 page document in which about 50% of the space is devoted to a clear, cogent, well-documented rendition of the most significant ideas in the book.  The remaining 50% will be devoted to your arguments connecting these ideas to relevant communication concepts and theories.  Be sure to document ideas you draw from other sources.  (Use the MLA format for documentation)
