ANTH 134 :: Japanese Culture and Society

This course will be taught in Spring 2006.  The syllabus displayed here is only an example.

Catalog Description:  The culture of the Japanese:  traditional and modern, rural and urban, cultural and social institutions; village and urban organization and family structure.  Aspects of social change in contemporary and rural and urban Japan.

Prerequisite and requirements:  A desire to learn about Japanese people and culture; an open mind and willingness to embrace differing world views and perspectives on life.
