About this page…

I haven’t previously posted very much about myself on the internet… but my Mom (of all people) was recently giving me a hard time about my internet presence, that it wasn’t very much fun….So – here it is, Mom! J

Personal Interests:

My family (first!), health (see my CSUS page), the environment (more below), sports (more below), music, wine (more below)….

I won’t de-privatize my family by placing photos on the web…. But the rest I can share:

Sports

Snow Sports: Alpine skiing, cross country, snow-shoeing…

yes… that is me in 1984… and yes that is a wooden board with 3 metal fins and a rubber strap for “bindings”…boots? K-swiss tennis shoes!

Ski Patrol: I am active as a National Ski Patroller at Sugar Bowl

Road Biking, mountain biking, swimming, running, triathlons, etc…

yes, that’s me breathing hard at the Wildflower Tri in 2006. I improved my time by more than 15 minutes in 2007…. But there’s still a long way to go! Hey – at least I try!

Fishing: Fly fishing in rivers & casting in Alaska

Scuba diving

Had the greatest time getting into diving this summer at the Cousteau resort in Fiji

Windsurfing

In a previous life (p.k.), I was ALL about windsurfing… but I only occasionally get out on the water. Maybe next year?

The environment

We’ve got photovoltaic system on our roof, CF bulbs, we do carbon off-sets for our cars & trips, bike commute whenever possible, recycle damn near everything that comes to the house, buy local/organic, etc…. …now we are just waiting for bio-diesel in the central valley (and a decent choice in diesel cars!)

Other than that, I highly recommend the following 2 organizations as doing outstanding, high-impact work for the environment.

Wine!

Trueblood Wine is the creation of my Sister and Brother-in-law. The wine is GREAT!

My sister is also the Enologist at Darioush, a fabulous new winery in Napa with Cab’s & Syrah.

More to  come later…. Page in progress!
