Professor Wheeler came to CSUS from the University of Oklahoma, where he completed his Ph.D. in 2003. Dr. Wheeler currently teaches OBE 153 (Human Resource Management) and he has research interests in recruiting, selection, and performance evaluation. Prior to returning to graduate school for his Ph.D., Dr. Wheeler worked as a change management consultant for Management Analysis, Inc in Vienna, VA and for KPMG (now Bearing Point) in Crystal City, VA. While in graduate school, Dr. Wheeler also consulted for the States of Oklahoma and Arkansas on compensation and performance evaluation projects, respectively. He continues to consult for organizations in need of change management and human resource management assistance. Dr. Wheeler has published scholarly research in Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of Marketing Channels, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Decision, and Journal of Managerial Psychology, as well as book chapters in Human Resources Management: Perspectives, Context, Functions, and Outcomes. He also has work forthcoming in Handbook of Organizational Politics and Research in Personnel and Human Resource Management. Dr. Wheeler has presented research at the annual conferences for the Academy of Management and the Southern Management Association. In addition to his scholarly research, Dr. Wheeler acts as an ad hoc reviewer for Journal of Management and Journal of Business Ethics. He has also reviewed management books for Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship.
