Rising Star Study Tour in China - Winter 2018

We are pleased to announce the Rising Star Study Tour is back for Winter 2018!

The China - U.S. Rising Star Student Study Tour is a flagship student exchange program under the framework of the China - U.S. High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE). Selected students will spend twelve days with other students from China and the U.S. learning about each other, exploring the latest development of different industries, and experiencing interesting cultural aspects of China. This program is a great opportunity for students who are interested in China and Chinese language and culture.

The 2018 winter tour will focus on different areas of art and design in Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu during January 7-20, 2018.

Program costs:

  • The Rising Star program will cover all of the program related expenses in China for the participants, including:
    • Meals
    • Accommodations
    • Domestic transportation in China
  • Participants are responsible for:
    • Required $150, non-refundable administrative fee
    • Visa application fee 
    • Travel insurance
    • Round-Trip Airfare

For Sacramento State students applying to the program:

  • Application and nomination forms must be submitted to the IPGE Office (LIbrary 1001) for signature by Wednesday, October 25.
  • Application and supplemental materials are due on Friday, October 27, 2017. 
  • Application and nomination forms should be typed.
  • Letters of recommendation should be written on university department letterhead and signed by the recommender.
  • Personal Statements should be free of grammar and spelling errors. Please have someone proofread your statement prior to submitting your application.
