Classroom Services

Classroom Services leads the support, design, and planning for campus learning spaces.  We provide all levels of operational, technical, design, and planning support for campus-wide spaces and technical, planning, and design consultation services for college-designated spaces.

About Learning Spaces

A searchable inventory of campus learning spaces is available using the Learning Space Inventory database. There are approximately 400 learning spaces on the CSU Campus. Around one-half are campus-wide spaces, meaning courses from any college can be scheduled in them. The remaining are college-designated spaces. Most campus-wide and numerous college-designated spaces contain instructional technology and are considered "smart."  There are two smart levels:

  • Basic Smart: Includes a laptop connection or PC, a projector, and wireless network access.
  • Advanced Smart: Features a PC, laptop connection, document camera, DVD/VCR Player, and touch panel control system in an accessible podium.

Reserving Spaces

To reserve a space for a full-semester course, faculty should work through their department schedulers. To reserve a space for short-term use, users should contact their department support staff to submit the necessary form to Space Management.
