My telephone appears dead, what do I do?
- Check to see that the telephone is securely plugged into the wall outlet.
- Check to see that the coil cord is securely plugged into the handset and telephone.
Why do I keep dialing the wrong number?
Make sure you are dialing "9" if you are calling a number off campus.
My calls fade in and out, how can I prevent this?
Try calling someone and wiggle the coil cord, wiggling it first near the handset and then at the telephone. If the problem still occurs report this information so it can be repaired
Why does the telephone continue to ring when I lift the handset?
Check to see if the switch hook is stuck.
- On beige telephones, lift the handset off the telephone, and look where it rested. If the switch hook is working properly, you should see two round cylinders on each side of the cradle sticking up about a quarter inch.
- On the black telephones, lift the handset off the telephone, and look where it rested. If the switch hook is working properly, you should see a small rectangular column in the lower center of the cradle sticking up about a quarter inch.
