Telecommunications Services

Telecommunications Services (TS) is a comprehensive center which applies innovative and technologically advanced solutions to meet the ever changing telecommunications demands of the University. Located in the Academic Information Research Center, the Telecommunications Switching Center (TSC) is the nerve center for an AVAYA Enterprise Communications Server (G3R) Digital/Fiber Switch, an AVAYA Multi-Point Video Conference Bridge, an AVAYA Voice/Fax Messaging System, an AVAYA Conversant Voice Response Unit, Call Accounting, and High Speed Data Communication equipment.

The TSC is also the hub for the University's copper and fiber optic cable plant and the main point of interconnect for the University communications carriers. TS's administrative offices and operator services are located on the third floor of the Academic Information Research Center, Room 3010.

TS is responsible for the University's internal telephone system; voice messaging services; communications infrastructure; installation, repair, and maintenance; operator services; directory services; telecommunications call accounting and cost recovery.
