Change Out Of Digital Phone

  • Due to a unique agreement with Avaya, the time has arrived to replace all of the black digital telephone sets presently in use with newer and more modern instruments. The new 6400 series telephone comes equipped with a built-in speakerphone, handset volume control, number display panel, and headset compatibility.
  • As has been done in the past, CCMS will use the Christmas vacation break (December 24 through December 30) to carry out equipment upgrades. The office installation process should take less than three minutes. The installer will simply unplug the older unit and replace it with the new telephone.
  • While the majority of the phones will be changed out over the holiday break, there are some that offices that are not on the campus/building master or are alarmed. If that is the case in your program center, please contact Telecommunications Services (TS) at #85900 as soon as possible so that special arrangements can be made to replace those phones. Again, the simplicity of the installation process should make this a painless event.

Current Headset Users

  • In order to ensure headset compatability with the new 6400 series sets, TS will replace incompatable headsets free of charge(you must trade-in your incompatable headset). If you are a current headset user, we need to know the type of headset you are currently using. Please click here to fill out online headset information form.

Replace Guide

  • If you have a 7403 or 7410 series set, it will be replaced with the 6408 set.
