Dial-In Discontinued

As of June 30th, 2010, SacLink Dial-in modem pool services for internet access have been discontinued. Since most campus users had long ago moved to use of high-speed internet access from home, our expensive campus modem pools were being used by less than 200 current students and employees. Given the $40,000 cost of maintaining the dial-in access, this amounted to an unsustainable home-use subsidy of more than $200 per year for each current user. Luckily, dialup internet access is offered inexpensively by a number of third party providers. All previous users of the old dial-up access have been notified of this change and most have already converted to alternative service. If you still need assistance with this change process, please contact the IRT Service Desk. Although we don't endorse particular dial-up providers, we can point you in the right direction.
