A document completed by the Academic Senate of the California State University in March 2003 to educate the CSU community on the important issues of copyright and patent rights. One section addresses the TEACH Act and its requirements and implications to distance learning.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act
The 1998 enactment of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) represents the most comprehensive reform of United States copyright law in a generation. The DMCA seeks to update U.S. copyright law for the digital age in preparation for ratification of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) treaties.
Fair Use of Copyrighted Works, A Crucial Element in Educating America
A joint project of the CSU-SUNY-CUNY Joint Committee. It was put together by the Working Group on Ownership, Legal Rights of Use and Fair Use of the CSU-SUNY-CUNY Joint Committee. The document also contains links to fair-use guidelines and other resources that are intended to promote a fuller understanding and appreciation of copyright laws.
