CCLS Assistant
This is a Student Assistant Level 1 position.
Advancement Opportunities:
After 300 hours of experience and a satisfactory-or-better performance evaluation, CCLS student assistant is eligible for a merit increase.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be dependable, prompt and committed to their job. They must have excellent communication and people skills. Applicants must have experience and familiarity with MS Windows operating system. They must be familiar with University Computing Labs common applications such as SacLink, IP Applications and word processing.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Additional qualifications include experience with basic MS Windows networking, MS Office Professional including Access, and the statistical programs: SPSS for Windows and Statgraphics. Customer service experience is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The principle duty of a CCLS Assistant is to provide service in a computer lab under the direction and guidance of the CCLS Manager or CCLS Supervisor. Requirements of employment include:
- prompt arrival to, coverage of and departure from lab shift
- requirement of registration and use of the Log on procedure on each station by all lab users
- basic maintenance of or problem reporting of non working machines
- assistance of students/faculty in the basic use of University computing equipment and software
- general cleaning of lab environment, equipment and floors and
- explanation and informing of lab usage rules

CCLS Supervisor
This is a Student Assistant Level 2 position.

Experience with basic MS Office Professional including Access, the statistical programs: SPSS for Windows and Statgraphics, the programming languages C and C++. Customer service experience is highly desirable.

- prompt arrival to, coverage of and departure from lab shift
- requirement of registration and use of the Log on procedure on each station by all lab users
- basic maintenance or problem reporting of non working machines,
- assist students and faculty in the basic use of computing equipment and software
- general cleaning of lab environment, equipment and floors within the labs
- explanation and informing of lab usage rules
- periodic presentation of group workshops for lab assistants
- training of CCLS Assistant in their duties
- writing of applicable lab documentation under the supervision of the CCLS Manager
- helping maintain appearance and functionality of student labs
- stocking labs with lab supplies
- gathering lost ids and lab keys
- handling of conflicts or problems within the labs
- interviewing potential LCS assistants for hire under the supervision of the CCLS Manager
- making changes to lab assistant schedule in the absence of the CCLS Manager
- observing and assessing of CCLS assistant performance

CCLS Consultant
This is a Student Assistant Level 2 position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one semester experience as a CCLS Assistant or equivalent experience, and excelled in the assessment requirements of the CCLS Assistant program. Applicants must be dependable, prompt and committed to their job. They must have excellent communication and people skills. Applicants must have experience and familiarity with MS Windows operating system. Familiarity with Macintosh OS is a plus. They must be familiar with University Computing Labs common applications such as SacLink, IP Applications and Word processing.

The principle duty of an CCLS Consultant is to oversee the Faculty\Staff Resource Center under the general support of the CCLS Manager. The CCLS Consultant also assists in the operation of the Classroom & Lab Services under the supervision of lab management. CCLS Consultant responsibilities include:
- prompt arrival to, coverage of and departure from lab shift
- basic maintenance or problem reporting of non working machines
- assistance of faculty and staff in the basic use of University computing equipment and software
- general cleaning of lab environment, equipment and floors within the labs
- explanation and informing of lab usage rules
- periodic presentation of group workshops for students
- periodic presentation of group workshops for lab assistants
- writing of applicable lab documentation under the supervision of the lab manager
- helping maintain appearance and functionality of student labs
- stocking FSRC labs with lab supplies
- handling of conflicts or problems within the labs
- observing and assessing of lab assistant performance

CCLS Senior Supervisor
This is a Student Assistant Level 3 position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one semester experience as a CCLS Assistant or CCLS Supervisor with excellent performance evaluations. Must have demonstrated dependability and commitment to Classroom & Lab Services. Must have proven customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient with MS Windows operating system, SacLink and IP Applications, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Visual Basic.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with networking, SPSS, Statgraphics, FrontPage or other web authoring software, VISIO, MS Visual Interdev, SQL and additional current
programming languages a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a high-visibility position that interacts with students, staff and faculty across the campus. The incumbent functions as the CCLS Manager's executive assistant and represents the CCLS Manager in their absence, requiring a high level of professionalism and commitment. This position is expected to work from 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic semester, and up to 40 hours per week during intersession. The incumbent works closely with the CCLS Manager in developing and updating lab policies and procedures, overseeing day-to-day lab operation, and planning and executing long-range improvements in operations, equipment, software and facilities. The incumbent is the lead supervisor and as such delegates duties and responsibilities among the lab supervisors and oversees their work. The incumbent works with a minimum of direct supervision.
Duties of the CCLS Senior Supervisor include:
- Daily supervision of CCLS Supervisors, CCLS Technicians and CCLS Assistants
- Assist CCLS Manager with scheduling and adjustments
- Verification of time stamps
- Screening and hiring of new CCLS Assistants and CCLS Supervisors
- Training of new CCLS Assistants and CCLS Supervisors, on-going training for current CCLS Assistants, CCLS Technicians, and CCLS Supervisors
- Evaluation of CCLS Assistants, CCLS Technicians, and CCLS Supervisors' performance
- Ensuring the maintenance of appearance and functionality of all lab areas, equipment and software
- Maintaining inventory and security of equipment, tools and supplies
- Maintaining documentation library for applications and procedures
- Maintaining integrity of lab statistics and security applications
- Planning the end-of-semester social function
- Other related duties as they emerge

CCLS Technician
This is a Student Assistant Level 3 position.

Applicants must have at least one semester experience as a CCLS Assistant or CCLS Supervisor with excellent performance evaluations. Must have demonstrated dependability and commitment to Classroom & Lab Services. Must have proven customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have an intermediate or better understanding of networking, network protocols (IP, AppleTalk), MSWindows operating systems, MSOffice, Outlook e-mail, IP Toolkit and SacLink.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with SPSS, Statgraphics, VISIO, MSVisual Basic, MSVisual Interdev, SQL and HTML a plus. Previous experience supporting technical lab environment and/or computer science/engineering or MIS major a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under the supervision of the CCLS Manager and CCLS Senior Supervisor, CCLS Technician is the first-line responder to ensure the proper operation of servers, work stations and all peripherals including laser printers, projectors, scanners and other devices in smart classroom and labs. This position is expected to work from 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic semester, and up to 40 hours per week during intersession.
The incumbent will independently analyze problems and take corrective action or refer the problem to a staff technician using the HEAT system. The incumbent will analyze and make recommendations to lab management concerning the efficient operation of lab equipment, software and its security, and will maintain complete and accurate records including equipment and software inventories. The incumbent will ensure that accurate records are kept of network information, and that all equipment is properly labeled using the approved standard nomenclature. The incumbent will train lab assistants and supervisors in the routine maintenance of software, hardware and peripherals. Working under the supervision of the CCLS Manager, the incumbent will assist in developing lab images, distributing them to work stations, and their on-going testing, maintenance and updating.
CCLS Technician will supervise CCLS Assistants and CCLS Supervisors when necessary to accomplish large projects. The incumbent will also act as lab supervisor when needed to cover absences or during emergencies.

CCLS Developer
This is a Student Assistant Level 3 position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one semester experience as an CCLS Assistant or CCLS Supervisor with excellent performance evaluations. Must have demonstrated dependability and commitment to the IRT's classroom and lab services. Must have proven customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have an intermediate or better understanding of networking, network protocols (IP, AppleTalk), MS Windows operating systems, MSOffice, Outlook e-mail, IP Toolkit and SacLink. Must have experience using MS Access, SQL, HTML, Visual Basic 6.0, Active Server Pages, and Microsoft Visual Interdev.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with File Transfer Protocol, SQL Server 2000, Active Server Pages .Net, Visual Basic .Net, and Visual Studio .Net. Previous experience supporting technical lab environment and/or computer science/engineering or MIS major a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under the supervision of the CCLS Manager, the CCLS Programmer's responsibilities are to develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. He or she will analyze user needs and develop software solutions, design software or customized software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. The CCLS Programmer will maintain complete and accurate records of creation, deployment, and use of applications he or she creates. This position is expected to work from 15 to 20 hours per week during the academic semester, and up to 40 hours per week during intersession.
The CCLS Programmer will CCLS Sassistants and CCLS Supervisors when necessary to accomplish large projects. The incumbent will also act as CCLS Supervisor when needed to cover absences or during emergencies.
