Common Management Systems
Welcome to the Common Management Systems (CMS) web site.
The CMS Project involves all 23 California State University (CSU) campuses and the implementation of PeopleSoft Human Resources, Financials and Student Administration (Campus Solutions) software.
In 1997 the Chancellor's Office initiated the Common Management Systems effort to consolidate the management systems of the CSU system and to identify one software package that would effectively support its Human Resources, Financial and Student systems. Several software solutions were reviewed and this process resulted in the selection of PeopleSoft.
All CMS PeopleSoft applications are managed and maintained by a central enterprise development group, SOSS (Software Operations and Support Services). This group develops and customizes the PeopleSoft applications to produce the CSU baseline version that is used by each campus for each of the applications. The software is run at a Unisys central data center facility in Salt Lake City.
