Instructional Materials Services at FSRC include:
- Support in creation of accessible instructional materials for courses
- eLearning Materials Support and Consultation
- Assistance with Captioning Self-Service and Media Projects
Instructional materials are an important component of your course and are used by your students to fulfill course requirements. In order to ensure equal access to learning, it is important for you to ensure that course materials are accessible to all students including those with a disability. Instructional materials may include: Course Syllabus, Textbooks, Videos used in Course, Content posted to SacCT or Faculty website, or Content distributed online such as Word Documents, PowerPoint Presentations or Adobe PDF documents. One-on-one help, training and self help resources available to assist you in the creation of accessible instructional materials. The Academic Technology and Creative Services Unit provides support in the area of eLearning Materials. ATCS consultants provide one-on-one support and training for SacCT (Blackboard), the campus learning management system. You can contact ATCS directly if you would like to schedule an appointment or have questions about this service. The FSRC provides tier 1 support for SacCT and connects you to ATCS for expert SacCT support and resources.
Captioning services are available for faculty and staff that need to caption video or audio based content e.g. recorded class lectures, VHS movie, DVD to be used in a course. Visit the Captioning Self Service page to learn how.
The FSRC Training room is located adjacent to the main FSRC room in AIRC room 3013. The training room can be reserved by Sacramento State Staff for academic related work e.g. meetings, workshops etc. Please see the Training Room Reservation page for more information.
