Request for Firewall Exceptions

Information Resources & Technology has implemented a firewalls at the border and servers. The firewalls, along with the server security guidelines and desktop management tools, helps ensure that campus machines remain reliable and secure.

A firewall provides network security by preventing unexpected traffic from entering the network (most importantly, attacks from outside). In order to function properly, all servers providing network services must be registered with the campus firewalls.
