CMS Human Resources and Student Administration System Upgrade
The CSU-wide central CMS office needs to upgrade Sacramento State’s portion of CMS. We have been given a limited number of dates to choose from, and have tentatively chosen the weekend of March 1st and 2nd. This would mean that beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb 28th and running through most of the weekend, the CMS Human Resources/Student Administration system will be unavailable. This includes: the Faculty Center, Student Center, Employee Center, search committee access, and related CMS HR/SA services. More details on the upgrade…

Astra Schedule Upgrade over Spring Break
Astra Schedule, the University's software tool for locating and scheduling facilities for classes, final exams, and events, is scheduled for an upgrade during spring break. More

Upgrade to the Financial System April 17th-24th. System will be down during this time.
Like all CSU campuses, Sacramento State utilizes the CSU system-wide PeopleSoft Common Financial system (CFS) for financial business processes like Procurement and Travel Reimbursement. More

Emergency / Critical Messaging Test – Classroom Phones
On March 7th there will be an Emergency / Critical Notification test. Public Affairs will be communicating information about the test, and also information to the campus on how faculty can “opt in” to receive text and phone messages in the event of an emergency. More

Classroom Support
We’re excited to announce that twelve additional university classrooms were upgraded over the semester break to include Intermediate Smart Technology. You can find a list that includes a description and pictures of these newly improved classrooms here. In addition, the campus is planning further classroom improvements over the coming summer that will include 1) As many as twenty additional Intermediate Smart Classrooms; 2) a pilot project to demonstrate collaborative technology and seating in a seminar room; 3) Addition of student self-study areas; and 4) the creation of a badly needed larger Advanced Smart Classroom.

Keep in mind that IRT’s Classroom Services group provides long-term and just-in-time support to all faculty in campus-wide classrooms and university computer labs. To reach Classroom Services, just call 916.278.7337, and choose Option 1. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

As we all know, change is inevitable, and keeping up with the latest software is never an easy task. Microsoft Windows 8 is already in use across campus and will be the primary solution as of the end of the Spring 2014 semester. More

SacState Data Center Scheduled Yearly Summer Maintenance: Saturday, July 27th from 6am to 7pm
