Spring IT Forum: ‘Optimizing Our Use of Data for Fostering Student Success’
Information Resources and Technology is pleased to announce the second annual Spring IT Forum, scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in Library 11. This semester’s forum features a timely discussion on “Optimizing Our Use of Data for Fostering Student Success.”
In today’s information-driven world, we’re inundated with data about nearly every aspect of our students’ academic lives. We’re also increasingly expected to proactively use data to enhance retention of our students and decrease the time to their graduation.
The panel discussing this topic will include Dr. Charles Gossett, interim provost; Dr. Janet Hesch, Faculty Senate chair; Dr. Marcellene Watson, associate vice president, Student Retention; Helen Norris, associate chief information officer, IRT; and Dr. Lisa Hammersley, associate professor of geology. Questions will be moderated by Dr. Larry Gilbert, vice president and CIO. Plenty of time will be provided for questions and comments from the audience. Light refreshments will be provided.
