Lab Reservation Guidelines

To view the University Labs Reservation Schedule, click here.

To reserve a University Lab, click here.

At the end of the online reservation process a form will be created. Please print this form for your own records. All CSUS Affiliated and Non-CSUS Affiliated requests require this form to be signed, dated, and faxed to 916-278-4403 before the request can be processed. A reply to your request will be sent out by email within three business days..

NOTE: Demand for lab space is very high. Plan to submit your requests for semester-long classroom instruction at least one month in advance of your first class meeting. For short-term use, submit your form at least two weeks in advance of your first class meeting. Requests are processed in the order received. A separate request must be submitted for finals week reservation schedules.

General Reservation Information
In brief, there are three categories of reservations:

1. Primary Purpose
A reservation request is considered for primary purpose if it is for a class listed in the University's schedule of classes or for employment related training of CSUS faculty/staff members. These reservations may be made only by full or part time CSUS faculty/staff members and receive first priority.

2. CSUS Affiliated
A reservation request is considered CSUS affiliated if it is for a University department or program or a recognized University auxiliary organization. These reservations may be made by CSUS faculty/staff members.

3. Non-CSUS Affiliated
All other reservation requests are considered non-CSUS affiliated and will be subject to approval of CSUS management based on purpose of the reservation and availability of suitable facilities.

Instructor's Folder on Lab Shared Drive
If you want to put material into a folder that students in any University Labs-managed computer station may read, but not modify, then follow this simple procedure:

  1. Obtain an "Account Request/Change/Deletion" form at ARC 2005 or at this website: www.csus.edu/uccs/forms/skyform.pdf.
  2. Complete the form and mail it to zip 6065, fax to 278-4403, or deliver to ARC 2005.
  3. Your instructor's folder will be created on the University Labs shared drive within five working days.
  4. Once your folder is created, just follow these easy instructions (MSWord 6.0) to add or remove files for your students to access from any University Labs managed computer station.

Lab Use Agreement
All University Labs managed computer users must agree to abide by all University Labs and University regulations and policies as well as all local, state and federal laws. Policies governing the use of computing facilities at CSUS may be reviewed by clicking here. The requester and presenter are liable for damage to equipment, furnishings or software incurred during the reservation period. The presenter is responsible for properly supervising minors at all times. University Labs reserves the right to refuse or terminate any reservation or use of its computing labs.
