Institute for Social Research

2007-2008 Faculty Fellows Program

The Research Fellowship program within the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies is a collaboration with the Institute for Social Research, an active research center and analytic laboratory which is part of the College. The purpose of the program is to provide opportunities for faculty to explore potential alignments between their research interests and the broad array of projects underway or considered at ISR. Other campus units designed to support the teaching, scholarly and creative excellence of faculty also participate in the fellowship program

Research Fellows participate in bi-weekly discussion sections at the ISR offices in the Adams Building. The schedule will also include active participation in the following workshops designed to inform and explore the different opportunities and approaches available to faculty through ISR and the College (faculty members may be invited to join existing or developing ISR projects, depending on the Institute’s need at the time). The final product of the Fellowship will be a brief funding proposal that the faculty member may submit for consideration for summer research funding and/or develop for submission to a potential funding agency, organization or foundation.
