Since its inception, the ISR has conducted more than 75 separate projects for more than 50 local, state and federal government agencies, nonprofits and community organizations. At present, the ISR has 16 ongoing projects, several of which are multi-year efforts. The ISR uses a project team approach with the Principal Investigator serving as the lead researcher and administrator for the project. Research Analysts manage day-to-day project activities and oversee data collection and analysis. Graduate Research Assistants, Research Consultants and Student Assistants round out the project teams engaging in specific research tasks. Faculty members are actively involved in ISR projects as either Principal Investigators or Faculty Research Associates who lend their specialized expertise to a project. The ISR is working to develop partnerships with other universities, including several with the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. It also is an active participant in a developing consortium of social science research institutes located at various campuses of the California State University.
