The Three Branches of State Government This 10-minute video, produced by the California Channel, is geared towards helping middle and high school students learn more about how our state legislative process works - and it is presented in a way that is enjoyable for everyone. The main premise for the lesson is that as in the federal government the framers of our state's constitution wanted to be sure that no one branch of government would have too much power. So they divided the powers of the government.
