Not far from California’s scurrying metropolis lie unparalleled feats of nature. Indeed, in the United States Mint’s state quarter collection, The Golden State is hardly represented by skyscrapers or Hollywood, but rather by a naturalist and national park. California’s impressive flora and fauna and generous wash of sunshine have not gone unappreciated and have lured many a traveler to its grounds. For me, California offered the opportunity to crawl in the dirt in attempt to capture a bee amidst its labors.
