2010 Lenaea Festival Guidelines

  1. Check-in - Check-in by the Program Director or an authorized chaperone is required no later than one hour before their school's first scheduled event. It is best to check in as soon as you arrive. Check-in is located in Room 240 of Shasta Hall.  All schools must check in at the Hospitality Room upon arrival.
Check final schedules for any changes.

  2. Load-in - Please remember to make contact with the Technical Director in the scene shop immediately after you check in so that you can make final arrangements for your load in. Items may not be left in the shop area without prior consent.  Productions will be limited to 45 minute performance time. Each school will have 15 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to strike. Please stay within the time limit. Be sure to indicate the running time of your production on the registration form.

  3. Dressing Rooms - Dressing rooms are available one hour only before and after performances. Dressing rooms will be used by multiple schools. Room assignments will be given when you check in. Do not leave valuables unattended. *Sacramento State, the Department of Theatre & Dance, and the Lenaea Festival will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  4. Keep all parents in the loop – Please send parents a written confirmation of all festival event times and hotel room information so that they know where their children are at all times, and remind students to check-in with them.

  5. Lenaea 2007Theatre Etiquette - It is imperative that everyone strictly observe the rules of Theatre Etiquette in order for all entrants to have a fair and equal opportunity to participate. Distractions, noise, and interruptions are not acceptable. Food, drink, watch alarms, beepers and cellular phones are strictly prohibited in all theatres. Please take a moment to remind everyone in your group.

  6. No Firearms or Hazards – Just a reminder that under penal code section 171b, it is against the law to have guns in any state building.  This includes the Sacramento State campus.  We recommend using prop guns and a sound effect in the booth.  Additionally, fire materials of any kind on or back stage are prohibited.  Please refrain from using matches, lighters, etc… in your performances.

  7. Only scheduled performances allowed – Please remind your students that the campus of Sacramento State has a strict policy of only allowing scheduled events to take place.  This includes performances of any kinds.

    Thank You.
