IMPORTANT NOTICE: In late 2003, California State Board of Education actions to meet federal "No Child Left Behind" (NCLB) regulations for teacher quality will require new teachers to pass the CSET for employment in California schools, regardless of whether they have completed an approved elementary subject matter preparation program. For this reason, beginning in January 2004, CSUS Liberal Studies students must pass CSET to establish subject matter competency.
