Mathematics Blended Program for the Preparation of Secondary

Application
Process
Prior to admission
to the CSUS Mathematics Blended Program, you must:
- have at least junior class standing and a minimum
overall GPA of 2.67.
- earn a grade
of C or better in Math 108.
- spend and
document at least 45 hours observing classes, tutoring, or teaching,
in a variety of settings in grades 712.
- take all
three sections of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
visit www.cbest.nesinc.com
for test dates and registration information. Students must submit verification
of taking the exam to the Mathematics Blended Program prior to admission,
and must submit verification of earning passing scores prior to their
last semester of student teaching. The testing fee is $41.
- complete
and submit an application packet to the Department of Mathematics and
Statistics, Brighton Hall 141. A completed packet includes: a completed
application form; an essay (two pages, typed, double-spaced) on why
you want to enter a career in teaching; and two letters of recommendation,
one specific to your teaching experience and one from a mathematics
instructor.
- participate
with other Mathematics Blended Program applicants in an interview by
faculty members. Applicants will receive notification of dates and times
of interviews.
