Course Description

Math 9 is an intermediate algebra course and is designed to prepare students, especially those in bioscience, economics and social sciences, for courses requiring basic algebra and trigonometry.

Math 9 along with LS 10X fulfills the ELM (Entry Level Mathematics) requirement.

Math 9 counts for three (3) workload units toward establishing full-time enrollment status, but it is not applicable to the baccalaureate degree. It is a Credit/No Credit class, and as such, does not affect GPA.

Prerequisites

One year each of high school algebra and geometry.

AND, a score of 9 through 26 on the IAD (Intermediate Algebra Diagnostic). Students with a score of less than 9 on the IAD need to take LS 7B or LS 10A.
