Course Description
Math 9 is an intermediate algebra course and is designed to prepare students, especially those in bioscience, economics and social sciences, for courses requiring basic algebra and trigonometry.
Math 9 along with LS 10X fulfills the ELM (Entry Level Mathematics) requirement.
Math 9 counts for three (3) workload units toward establishing full-time enrollment status, but it is not applicable to the baccalaureate degree. It is a Credit/No Credit class, and as such, does not affect GPA.
Prerequisites
One year each of high school algebra and geometry.
In addition, a score of 19 or above on the EGAD (Elementary Algebra Diagnostic with Geometry) test is required. Students with EGAD scores of 18 or less must see their instructor for placement. OR
a score of 9 through 26 on the IAD (Intermediate Algebra Diagnostic). Students with a score of less than 9 on the IAD need to take LS 7A/B or LS 10A. OR
Concurrent enrollment in LS 10X.Instructor Information
