McNair Research Symposium
2016 McNair Scholars Research Symposium
University Union, Hinde Auditorium
Monday, April 18th, 2016
The idea to host a McNair Research Symposium was derived from the need to allow McNair Scholars an opportunity to practice their presentations skills in a “safe” environment before traveling to McNair research conferences. The first McNair Scholars Research Symposium was held in the Spring of 2011. At that time there were only a few students, faculty, and family members present and the only students presenting were current McNair Scholars. Since then the event has evolved to allow both current and past scholars an opportunity to present and is now being opened to the campus community.
The event is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students and McNair Scholars. Students have the option of selecting to present an oral presentation, poster presentation, or both oral and poster presentation. Students will have 10 minutes to make their oral presentations and 5 minutes will be allocated to each presenter for questions. All posters should be no larger than 4 feet by 3 feet. If you would like to participate in the McNair Research Symposium, please contact the McNair staff at: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (916) 278-5118. The symposium is held every year during the Spring Semester.
