College Entrance Exams SAT Reasoning Test & SAT II / SAT Subject Tests The SAT Reasoning Test(SAT I) and SAT Subjects Tests (also known as the SAT IIs) are standardized tests for college and university admission. Both are produced and administered by the College Board. The SAT Reasoning test is an aptitude test assessing students' skills in writing (including an essay), mathematics and critical reading. The SAT Reasoning Test has a maximum composite score of 2400. The SAT Subject Tests are a set of tests that measure students' mastery in 5 different subject areas including English, history and social science, mathematics, science and languages. Students choose out of the 20 different Subject Tests available what subjects they want or need (Some universities require specific subjects tests) to test in. SAT Subject Tests are scored individually and have a maximum score of 800 each.
STs - Students may take either the SAT Reasoning Test or Subjects Tests on this Test date. Advanced Placement Program The Advanced Placement Program offers college level courses, developed by the College Board, on over 30 distinct subjects to high achieving students enrolled in participating high schools. For each AP course there is a corresponding test that any student may take to possibly earn credits or units at their chosen university. AP testing is held in the month of May and scored on a scale of 1 through 5. Interested students must talk to their school's AP coordinator or teacher to register for an AP course and/or take an AP Test. Each university and college has their own AP credit policy for how they interpret AP test scores. The ACTThe ACT is an alternative standardized exam to the SAT Reasoning Test for college admissions developed and administered by ACT, Inc. The ACT is an achievement test designed after high school curricula; the test assesses students' knowledge of English, Mathematics, Reading and Science with an optional writing section. The ACT has a maximum composite score of 36; the writing subscore is combined with the English section in the composite.
