Dr. Gary E. Ford
Associate Dean of College of Engineering, UC Davis
Gary E. Ford received the B.S. degree (with highest honors) from the University of California, Davis in 1967, the M.S. degree from Stanford University in 1968, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Davis in 1976. From 1968 to 1972 he was with the Medical Systems Division, U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine where he was responsible for the development, test, and evaluation of biomedical instrumentation for use in the USAF Aeromedical Airlift System and in physiological research at the School of Aerospace Medicine. He was a National Science Foundation Fellow and served as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California, Davis, from 1972 to 1976. He joined the University of California, Davis in 1976 and is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Study for the College of Engineering. His research interests are image processing, pattern recognition, and digital signal processing. Dr. Ford is a member of the IEEE, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. |
