Ted Lascher (PPA) has been awarded the Field Institute Fellowship. This fellowship will entitle him to place a number of items on an upcoming California Poll. The items will pertain to the ballot initiative process, and follow-up an earlier study on this topic.
Peter Detwiler (PPA) reports that his chapter, "Public Finance In Perspective" will appear in "Public Needs, Private Dollars (2nd edition)" to be published later this year by Solano Press Books. Authored by Sacramento attorney William Abbott, the book is a resource guide for land use lawyers and planners who advise builders and local officials on infrastructure issues. Detwiler's chapter reviews the major trends in state and local fiscal issues that affect public works spending, setting the context for the book.
