Application deadline changed to November 30, 2009.
The California State University has set the priority application period for fall 2010 to October 1 through November 30, 2009.
Our application deadline is no longer March 5, 2010.
It is now November 30, 2009.
A typical use
of units from the Fellows programs is:
internship waived
6
units toward elective credit
Judicial Administration Certificate/Concentration students who have successfully completed the Judicial Administration Fellowship Program may substitute PPA 298A/B for PPA 291, Court Governance and Operations.
The Capital Fellows programs cover a
combination of internship and seminar, which substitutes for elective units. Consequently
all Fellows admitted to the PPA program must take all PPA core courses (27 units)
and complete a thesis/project (3 units) to earn an MPPA. A full-time student can
expect to finish in 2 years or less under this arrangement.
Application
Fellows wishing to apply to the MPPA program must complete
a university application (which includes an application fee) and a supplemental
program application. Current Fellows cannot simply reclassify into a
graduate program at CSUS. All materials should be submitted to the PPA
department
unless otherwise noted. Application to the PPA program must
include:
Three letters
of recommendation (these should be new letters using the PPA recommendation
form and not simply copies of letters submitted with Fellowship applications)
Other
Requirements Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or
better. A grade of B or better is required in all prerequisite courses. Prerequisites
are: microeconomics, statistics, and government/political science (the Fellowship
seminar can be substituted for the last prerequisite). Applicants with deficiencies
may be required to complete additional course work.
Deadline The application deadline is the first Friday in MarchNovember 30.
