California State University, Sacramento. Department of Public Policy and Administration/International Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin Fall semester 1999. Applicants must have Ph.D. (preferred by August 22, 1999, required in hand by January 2, 2000) in economics, international affairs, political science, public administration, public affairs, public policy or equivalent doctorate with training in public policy analysis, comparative public policy, and research methods and data analysis. Demonstrated interest and training in Asian/Pacific Rim policy issues, programs or area studies is highly desirable. Duties: teaching applied research methods and statistics courses, courses in comparative or international public policy, and electives in area of specialization; developing curriculum; advising – including thesis direction and advising; Department, College and University committee work, and community service; and participation in scholarly and professional activities. Assigned duties will also include assisting in coordination of the Graduate Program in International Affairs, and may include limited participation in an off-campus downtown Sacramento Public Policy and Administration (PPA) cohort degree program. Must be able to address the needs of an ethnically diverse student population through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement. Research Analyst
ABOUT THE POSITION: This position can be full-time or part time. The Research Analyst reports directly to the Executive Director and has primary responsibility for researching and compiling comprehensive data on camaign contributions to legislative and statewide candidates and the contribution patterns of major interest groups. The Research Analyst's responsibilities include:

QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to knowledge of and commitment to Common Cause issues, applicants should be able to demonstrate an aptitude for research, and strong writing and computer skills. Experience with database management, spread sheets, desktop publishing, and Internet research is highly desirable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range $25-30,000, depending on experience, for full time. Benefits include excellent health and life insurance, pension and three weeks paid vacation.

FIELD ORGANIZER
ABOUT THE POSITION: This position can be full-time or part time (minimum 25 hours per week). It is located in downtown Sacramento and involves travel within the state. The Field Organizer reports directly to the Executive Director and is the primary liaison between the organization and its California members. The Field Organizer's responsibilities include:

Experience with database management, email networks, website development and Internet research is highly desirable.
