The Solano Community College Educational Foundation was created
as a not-for-profit corporation by local residents in 1985. Its
purpose is to promote the general welfare of Solano Community
College in the following manner:
Qualities: The ideal candidate for this position
should possess the following qualities:
Intelligence; maturity; experience working in a professional
office; self-directed; an outgoing, enthusiastic and creative
nature; familiarity with California Higher Education system and a
willingness to explore the use of mass media technologies in
non-profit development and fundraising.
Skills and Experience: The candidate for this
position should have skills and experience in some or all of the
following areas:
Membership and fundraising; strong writing, public speaking,
organizational, social, computer and Internet skills; good
"customer service" skills and experience working
directly with the public; experience with nonprofit
organizations; a bachelors degree.
Schedule/Hours: Part-time, flexible 10 +
hours week.

EPS SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM--1999
Economic & Planning Systems (EPS) is a leading land economics consulting firm experienced in the full spectrum of services related to real estate development, the financing of public infrastruture, land use and conservation planning, and government organization. EPS has offices in SAcramento and Berkeley, and serves a variety of public and private sector clients throughout the western United States.
EPS anticipates that one internship position will be available in the Sacramento office during Summer 1999. This temporary position will last from two to three months during June, July, and August. It will be a full-time paid postion. Benefits are not offered with the summer internship position. Wage is commensurate with experience.
Summer intern will work under the direction of project managers and may assist in analyses related to real estate feasibility, fiscal impacts, public finance, and land use policy, revitalization/redevelopment, and regional economic development. The position provides a good opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of land economics. It will provide professional development i a stimulation environment for the individual with the rights skills and an interest in the interplay between economics and public policy in the development of urban systems.
The EPS summer internship is targeted to minorities, both men and women, in graduate degree programs such as business, planning, public policy, and economics or with BAs in the same fields, but all candidates are welcome to apply.
REQUIREMENTS
EPS is looking for current graduate students or individuals with
a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Economics, Public Policy, Urban
Studies, Business, or a related field. Facility in microcomputer
applicaitons (e.g. Excel, Lotus, Dbase, word processing) and
strong analytical and writing skills are essential.
