DIRECTOR'S CORNER Hello, Everyone. I need to share some sad news with you all. Earlier this month the Sacramento Bee carried a death notice for Dan Scruggs, who earned his MPPA in 1998. Some of you may have known Dan from class or met him at the MPPA 10th Anniversary Celebration last May. According to the obituary, he died suddenly on March 12, 2001. Dan leaves behind his wife and unborn child and a young son from a previous marriage. The faculty and staff of the MPPA program are deeply saddened by this news. Dan was a likable and pleasant guy who overcame much to earn his degree. This month, like every month, we have lots of PPA stuff for you. Our Student Jobs/Internships page has a few items. The Career Opportunities page has many more. Be sure to pay attention to the deadlines, some are just around the corner. You may want to check the Announcements page. There are two conferences mentioned. One of them is hosted by the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies and the other by the Social Sciences Research and Instructional Council. Here are some reminders for you...
Can you believe we're more than half way through the semester? I hope you all enjoy Spring Break Bob Waste We welcome your contributions to the Communicator! Contact the Director, Bob Waste, or the Department Secretary, Suzi Byrd, (916) 278-6557, in the PPA Department Office. |
