Public Policy and Administration at California State University, Sacramento.
CHAIR'S CORNER Greetings everyone. I first want to express my thanks to members of the 2001 entering class for their patience and good humor about challenges related to the unusually large size of this student cohort (e.g., lack of sufficient copies of required books). And everyone seems to have found parking spots- though perhaps I'm wrong in assuming that people didn't walk to class from Elk Grove. Our big news is that we'll be having a pot luck dinner at my house during the evening of Saturday, October 20. This is the first major event of our newly formed PPA alumni chapter. However, participation is not at all limited to alumni, and we're very much hoping that current students and friends of the program will join us as well. I also promise that the whole evening will be devoted to schmoozing; we won't ask you to run a single regression analysis, draw a single causal diagram, identify a window of opportunity for policy action, or specify the different analytical approaches that could be used to address a policy problem. I'll provide more details about this event soon. As always, please contact Suzi or me if you have information you want to share with other PPAers. Best wishes. Ted Lascher We welcome your contributions to the Communicator! Contact the Director, Ted Lascher, or the Department Secretary, Suzi Byrd, (916) 278-6557, in the PPA Department Office. |
