ALUMNI

PPA Alumni Association Chapter
I would like to urge you to join a new alumni organization for PPA graduates. As most but probably not all of you know, I'll be taking over as PPA director in May, and I want to make alumni relations a strong priority. I want to concentrate first on simply creating a formal PPA alumni organization.

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, please SEND ME AN E-MAIL MESSAGE that includes your address, and I'll have the alumni office send you the appropriate information. We need 30 members to form an affiliate chapter.

BENEFITS AND COSTS (hey, this is PPA-- how else did you expect me to put it?) Annual dues are $40 for regular alumni members, and $25 for people in the first year after graduation. Key benefits of membership are as follows:

  • With a $5 fee, full access to the library, including checking out books, interlibrary loan, etc.
  • 15-20% discounts on continuing ed. classes
  • Discounts on campus recreation (including the Aquatics Center at Folsom) and some major state recreation places (e.g., San Diego Zoo, Great America)
  • Access to group life/health/vision/dental plans
  • Free e-mail
  • No annual fee credit card
  • [I actually think this is a big one for us] Ability to use the Alumni center free for a group's events at least once a year, and to use it for regular meetings on a space available basis
  • The "University" magazine and alumni class notes at least twice a year

BOTTOM LINE
I hope to hear from you soon.

Ted Lascher
