ALUMNI President's Corner Haven't you always wanted to get in on the ground floor of a good thing? This is your chance! The Public Policy and Administration Chapter of the CSUS Alumni Association is just getting started. We have a core of officers, our first members, our own listserv, and big plans. We invite -and encourage- you to join us as we get the PPA chapter up and running. If you've been a PPA student, whether you finished that thesis or not, you are welcome to join the chapter. Come to a meeting to find out more about the chapter. Plans for the 2001-02 school year include casual gatherings in October and in the spring, quarterly meetings for business and networking, and at least one meeting focusing on a current public policy or administration issue. The next quarterly meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 12th, at 5:30 p.m. at Vallejo's at 4th and S Streets. We'll do some business, and then have time to network and enjoy each other's company. At our first meeting in July, we identified several common interests and purposes for the chapter. These include networking, student recruitment, mentoring current students, career development, continuing education, and the promotion of the PPA program. We also want to have some fun together; so social events are high on the list of priorities. If you are interested in learning more, contact Deborah Franklin (Chapter President) at 916-334-5246 or franklin_deborah@hotmail.com. Alumni Updates
