FACULTY
Ted Lascher
Ted Lascher co-edited a book entitled "The Economics and Politics
of Choice No-Fault Insurance," published over the summer by Kluwer
Academic Press.
Nancy Shulock
Nancy Shulock is leaving her position as Associate Vice President for
Academic Affairs, effective September 1, to be Executive Director of the
new Institute for Higher Education Policy and Administration at CSUS.
The Institute will be part of the Center for California Studies and will
be affiliated with the PPA program. Its principal mission is to explore
and advance the role of the California State University under the Master
Plan with a special focus on the interrelationship between the CSU and
CCC systems to provide access to quality education for a broad and diverse
population. Its focus on both policy and administrative issues within
higher education parallels the focus of the PPA program and is intended
to help California's higher education leaders develop both the knowledge
and the tools to improve higher education practices in the state. The
Institute will work to establish a new 3-course elective track within
the PPA program on higher education and also will provide opportunities
for PPA students to engage in applied research projects.
In the first year, the Institute will take the lead on a new community
college leadership development program, among other activities. The Institute
will be located in Tahoe Hall near the PPA offices and the Center for
California Studies.
