Hello, Everyone. Welcome to this month's Communicator.
I would like to draw your attention to a conference that will be held
here at the CSUS campus this May. The California State University Social
Sciences Research and Instructional Council's 25th Annual Student Research
Conference will be Friday, May 4, 2001.
Please write tedl@csus.edu or call
(278-4864) if you want to discuss participating in the conference. Please
note that the deadline for submissions is Friday, April 27. Papers
should be submitted directly to Ted in hard copy (not fax or electronic)
form. Cash prizes will be awarded to the best papers.
Just so you know... There is an important item missing from the academic calendar in the 2000-01 class schedule. Cesar Chavez Day! Cesar Chavez Day will be observed Friday, March 30. Campus will be closed.
The Communicator has lots of PPA stuff for you to read. Is anyone taking PPA 210 this semester? Our Alumni page has a short bio on your instructor. Our Student Jobs/Internships page has another one of those live-out-of-town internships. The Career Opportunities page has many postings, thanks to some of our well connected students. Also, there is a scholarship listed on our Scholarships page for which many of you qualify.
Please remember that March 9 is the last day to drop a class with a department
approved petition. Also, Commencement this year is Friday, May 25
at 4:30 p.m. at Arco Arena (participants should be there no later than
4:00 p.m.). Students in the MPPA program who will be participating must
sign up at the SSIS Dean's Office, Amador Hall, Room 255, 916/278-6504.
Gowns and hoods may be purchased from the ASI Business Office (University
Union, 3rd Floor).
